Common Ground Theatre is sustained financially by donations from board members, individual donations, the sale of tickets for productions, and relatively small donations from small foundations and the San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture.  Like many other arts organizations, Common Ground Theatre constantly struggles to survive.  The greatest challenges are financial:  keeping the theatre in operation while creating a predictable stream of financial support to be able to hire and pay staff and performers; developing a predictable corps of patrons and supporters to enhance ticket sales to support productions; and raising the funds needed to plan and produce the kind of high quality productions that fulfill the mission of Common Ground Theatre.
